The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Anton Gorekin expressed the opinion that *WhatsApp could soon disappear from Russia. But Telegram will not touch.
According to Gorelkin, WhatsApp, most likely, will be on the list of in -depth countries. The Russian government, on behalf of the president, is developing such a list.
However, Telegram has another registration: the messenger is registered in the British Virgin Islands, but the main office of the company is “in the Arab Emirates that are completely friendly to us.” The deputy noted that Telegram will not fall into the list of alternate countries if he fulfills the laws of Russia and shows that he wants to stay on the market.
Gorelkin also said that the WhatsApp in Russia is most likely to take the Max National Messenger.
“Personally, I believe that Telegram will not fall into the same list, especially if it fulfills the requirements of Russian legislation and prove its desire to preserve in the market,” the politician emphasized.
