From July 26, new rules began to apply in the UK: to gain access to sites with porn, users must confirm their age. This is part of the law “On the Internet”, which requires a strict test of age from sites.
Now the British will have to either upload a photo of the document or take a selfie – some sites will even determine the age of the face. Such measures have already been introduced by Pornhub, Reddit and Bluesky.
The new rules are controlled by the OFCOM-the UK media regulator. For their violation, sites may receive a fine of up to £ 18 million or 10% of annual income. It is also now forbidden to advertise ways to bypass age -related restrictions.
