TSMC is considering the possibility of using drones at his enterprise in Arizona, where 4-nanometer chips are produced for large technological companies. According to sources from Taiwan, the company has already begun the selection of suppliers of drones and creates a special team for working with them.
The use of drones is planned to monitor construction, patrolling the territory, control over the movement of transport and help in emergency situations. Such a measure, according to TSMC, can reduce the number of necessary personnel at the facility and reduce risks for employees, especially in remote and difficult conditions.
The factory in Arizona became the first major production project of the company in the United States, but its implementation was accompanied by difficulties. Local trade unions accused TSMC of preference to Taiwanese workers and violation of construction standards, and American employees sued the company on charges of discrimination and unsafe working conditions.
Despite this, TSMC plans to further expansion: by the end of the decade, the company intends to launch three factories in the United States to form an autonomous chain of deliveries of chips for the American market.
