A new Xanite emulator has been published on Android, declared as a “means to launch games from Xbox and Xbox 360”. The project quickly attracted attention, but stained itself in a scandal already on the release day.
The developers promised that the application would be completely new and independent of existing Xemu and Xenia emulators. However, the first version 0.1, which appeared on GitHub, disappointed users.
It is focused only on the original Xbox, but does not launch games, and the only “proof” of the work was the picture with the Doom 3 menu. The application does not support Android 14 and 15, and its APK file is not even signed, which complicates the installation.
Users, having studied the code, found out that there are actually no emulations in it – this is an empty shell with the interface and built -in illegal files, including Xbox BIOS.
The developers also did not provide the source, and the official Discord project turned out to be chaotic and without support.
Experts advise so far to ignore the Xanite and use proven solutions like Xemu via Winlator, albeit with a loss of performance.
