The Alrosa mining company has created a system based on artificial intelligence (AI) to search for new diamond deposits. The development is designed to detect deposits with weak indication properties in regions with a complex geological structure.
The system is studying at the company’s own data collected for more than 50 years of diamond work. All this array of information was digitized and used to train the neural network. This allows you to more accurately determine the promising territories for intelligence and reduce the terms for their search.
It is expected that the introduction of technology will bring an economic effect of hundreds of millions of rubles for each project. After completing the tests, the system is planned to scale for all territories developed by the company.
Development uses large language models to accelerate the analysis of geological and geophysical information. This helps specialists quickly process data and more precisely to allocate areas promising for the search for diamonds.
