Apple plans to release the first MacBook Pro with OLED displays at the end of 2026. This was reported by South Korean sources, indicating that Samsung Display will become the main supplier of panels.
This is due to the fact that Samsung actively invests in the eighth -generation OLED production lines (Gen 8.6), which are ideal for laptops.
OLED technology will provide noticeable improvements compared to current mini-led screens: higher brightness, deep black, improved contrast and reduced energy consumption. It will also positively affect the battery life.
It is assumed that first the OLED displays will receive the MacBook Pro models, and then the innovation will reach the MacBook Air.
There are rumors about a possible redesign – Apple supposedly wants to make a laptop thinner, without sacrificing the battery. The option of refusing the “bangs” in favor of a cut-off-capsule is also discussed, but this has not yet been confirmed.
Thus, 2026 may be the beginning of the new era of MacBook with OLED.
