The biological satellite of Bion-M No. 2, the launch of which is scheduled for August 20 from the Baikonur cosmodrome, will spend a month in orbit. According to Alexander Andreev-Andrievsky from the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the landing of the apparatus with 75 mice on board will be held on September 19 in the Orenburg region.

After landing, specialists will meet the descent device – the process resembles the return of astronauts. The search group with helicopters and all -terrain vehicles will quickly deliver animals to the field laboratory, where some of the mice will immediately be dissected. This is necessary in order to fix changes in organisms caused by space flight before the start of recovery processes.

The rest of the rodents will go to Moscow for further study. Scientists plan to observe their condition for a month, conducting regular tests-on the first day after planting, then on the fifth, 15th and 30s. This approach will allow you to get a complete picture of the adaptation of living organisms to zero gravity.
