The Android Authority portal observers drew attention to the new function that the company is currently operating on. We are talking about a new approach to copying files on a smartphone in Google Disk.
Now Google offers two ways to create reserve data on devices: for photos and videos and for the rest of the content. The first method is simple and obvious and allows you to save all photos and videos in Google photo. The second method involves the preservation of all data on the phone, such as settings, messages and data from applications. But this is quite difficult, and this is not about that.
Moreover, applications data are information that the applications themselves store, but not files that are downloaded to the drive section. You can download the folder with files to disk manually, but usually these files are not stored in backup copies.
Now Google intends to provide the opportunity to make backup copies and files in downloads. Probably Google will use the disc for storing these files according to the same principle, as happens with Google photos for photos and videos.
However, insiders find it difficult to answer, only files from downloads will be copied or also those that are in other places on the phone. And these will be only documents or other types of files – it is not yet clear.
