The Australian company Contec Australia printed on a 3D printer a full-fledged two-story house in just 18 hours.

The project was implemented in the suburbs of Perth – Tapping, and was one of the first examples when both floor structures were completely performed by the seal, without the use of a wooden frame.

For construction, the Cybe industrial robot from the Netherlands was used, which the layer behind the layer squeezed out a special cement composition. The mixture freezes in less than three minutes, withstands pressure up to 50 MPa and exceeds the standard brick in strength more than three times.

The walls of the house are fireproof, waterproof, protected from termites and designed for hurricanes, which makes them suitable for Australia conditions.

After printing the shell, the builders added a roof, wiring, floors and other elements, which took several months. The result was a modern house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage and a balcony.

According to Contec, the project was 22% cheaper than traditional brick construction.
