RIA Novosti, with reference to the press service of the North Caucasus Federal University (SKFU), reports that an innovative sealing connection was developed at the university, designed to prevent leaks in oil and gas wells. This solution allows you to replace metal pipes with more economical and stable metal -plastic counterparts.
The technology developed by specialists of the SKFU provides the possibility of using metal -plastic pipes instead of metal, which reduces the costs of the purchase and maintenance of equipment.
The development of SKFU is a unique technical solution that has no analogues in the market. The connection increases the reliability of equipment operation and provides economic benefits by reducing the cost, weight loss and increased corrosion resistance of metal -plastic pipes.
The test results showed that the developed compound withstands pressure up to 12 megapascals (MPa) without deformations and leaks. During the testing, the researchers did not find defects in the form of leaks or cracks both on the main metal and in the connective connections.
A patent for the Russian Federation No. 2825910C1 was received for the invention.
