For its creation, the same technological platform was used as for the “satellite V,” said the director of the Center Alexander Ginzburg, whose words convey Izvestia. The vaccine is not intended for mass immunization in Russia. It is designed for people who often travel to places where the disease is common.
The drug has passed the stages of research work. Now it is planned to conduct preclinical and clinical trials, including the third phase, which can take place in countries with a high epidemic threat, for example, in Africa. Test terms can reach two years.
Scientists note that the vaccine is safe: it does not contain a living virus, but uses genetically engineering adenoviruses to form an immune response.
