The Russian unmanned aerial vehicle “Meridian”, capable of landing, is planned to be used for environmental forecasting. According to the developers from the center of autonomous robotic systems, the device will be able to year -round observe the state of the earth, water and ice surface.
The drone is developed together with MSTU. Bauman with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The device will be able to operate in the temperature range from -45 ° C to +35 ° C, be in the air for up to 11 hours and overcome distances up to 1200 km. The maximum flight height will be 4000 meters.
A feature of Meridian will be the possibility of work without satellite navigation. The drone case will be made of aluminum alloys with composite and welded elements.
Currently, the project is at the stage of development. The developers have already conducted the necessary aerodynamic and strength calculations.
