Microsoft hinted at the appearance of “conversational” AI in Windows 12

16.08.2025

Windows project manager Pavan Davuluri and Microsoft Manager Christian Brinkhoff, during the podcast on YouTube, predicted that voice input will become the main way to interact with the operating system. Unlike the current use of the keyboard and mice, future versions of Windows – in particular, talked about the future Windows 12 – will be more multimodal.

Davuluri noted that artificial intelligence, Copilot Vision, which can “see” everything that happens on the screen, will help make Windows “more natural, multimodal and semantically understanding”. Simply put, the user will be able to communicate with the device for future Windows only in a voice, and other methods of interaction will not be needed or will become secondary. According to Microsoft representatives, the computer will be able to take into account the context and understand the user’s intentions during operation.

These ideas probably reflect Microsoft’s plans already on Windows 12.
