Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a meeting with the General Director of Rostec State Corporation Sergei Chemezov. The main theme of the conversation was measures to achieve the technological sovereignty of the country, including research and design developments (R&D), which is implemented by the corporation.
The head of government emphasized the need for long -term planning in this area. He indicated that work related to science and technology should have a prospect of at least 2036 to form a reserve for future development and expansion of production.
According to the Prime Minister, without such an approach, it is impossible to implement national projects related to technological leadership. He also recalled the president’s order to increase R&D expenses to 2% of GDP, which is directly related to ensuring the technological independence of Russia.
Particular attention was paid to the role of Rostec in various sectors – from medical products to space. Mishustin noted that the corporation is actively involved in the implementation of the tasks of the national level and contributes to the strengthening of the country’s defense capacity.
