In the press service of Novgorod State University. Yaroslav the Wise (NovGU) reported that university scientists modernized vacuum spraying technology for the manufacture of micro- and nanoelectronics parts. Development solves the problem of uneven application of layers, which led to marriage of products.
Experts created a special damper with holes of a special shape for the installation of UVN 71-PZ. This solution prevents excess material from the substrate and provides uniform coating. As explained by the project participant Dmitry Kortsov, the principle of operation is similar to the use of a stencil for uniform application of sugar powder to confectionery.
Modernization allowed the company to save significant funds – the replacement of equipment would cost 50 million rubles, while the development of Novgorod experts required much lower costs. At the same time, the installation of the damper does not require the analysis of the machine, which retains the integrity of the production line.
The development was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science in the framework of the “Decade of Science and Technology”. The technology can be applied at other enterprises using similar equipment.
