The BlackDot system is a new robot that, using artificial intelligence and computer vision, can automatically apply tattoos to the skin. This technology was developed by a startup company from the USA.
Now the robot is able to create only black and white tattoos on even areas of the body-arms and legs. In the future, it is planned to expand the possibilities for other zones, such as breasts and shoulders.
How does this work? The operator loads a tattoo drawing into the system and selects the size. Then the robot begins to apply ink, making very small points – they are less than the thickness of the human hair. The built -in camera and the laser are checked by how ink lies on the skin and select the best settings.
This method is faster, more accurately and less painful than the manual work of the master, since the punctures of the skin are less deep. Extra ink are immediately removed using a special suction.
Drawings for the robot are created by real artists who receive a commission every time customers choose their design. All tattoos are stored in the cloud and are available to any Blackdot robot in any city.
The prototype is already used in a tattoo salon in New York. The company plans to rent robots to studios and is looking for investors.
