In 2025, the Stavropol Territory achieved a record crop of grain – more than 10 million tons. This result was achieved thanks to the use of modern technologies for increasing precipitation, said the governor of the region Vladimir Vladimirov.
A special aircraft-laboratory of Roshydromet helped increase the amount of precipitation by a third compared to the previous dry year. This provided sufficient soil moisture for a good harvest. The experience of the region has already been interested in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and can be applied in other regions.
In parallel, the agricultural insurance system with state support is developing in the Stavropol. This year, more than a million hectares of crops were insured. This helps farmers compensate for the losses from drought, hail and other natural disasters.
As Vladimirov noted, the region belongs to the zone of risky agriculture, so insurance mechanisms are especially important for local agricultural producers. In recent years, an additional opportunity has appeared – insurance against emergency situations, which expands the protection of farmers.
