Tesla showed a timelapse of 580 km trips on autopilot

14.08.2025

Tesla posted a video with the time lapse of a trip of one of her cars on Full Self-Driving (FSD) from San Francisco to Los Angeles-about 580 km. The trip usually takes up to seven hours and turned on the Supercharger charging.

To comply with the law behind the wheel, there was a person who was ready to take control of himself if necessary (the hands were on the knees). The camera monitors the driver to make sure that he is attentive and looks at the road while the car is moving.

The head of Tesla, Ilon Musk, said that the company is now testing an improved version of the FSD, which can become available to the public by the end of September.

Recently, Tesla launched robotax to Texas, already without a driver, but this is not yet available to ordinary Tesla owners.
