In Japan, clinical trials of the drug have begun, which can stimulate the growth of new teeth in adult patients. The basis of the technology is the activation of “sleeping” dentitions under the gum. If studies confirm effectiveness, this will become one of the most noticeable developments in regenerative dentistry. The drug affects the genetic mechanisms responsible for the formation of tooth. Under its action, cells, which usually remain inactive, begin to launch the process of formation of new dental beginnings. In the future, this will restore the dentition without the need for prosthetics or implantation, which will save patients from a number of inconvenience.

However, despite the promise of the method, the technology requires long tests. At the moment, we are talking about the early stage of clinical research, and so far there is no final data on safety and effectiveness. Side effects are possible, as well as the need to select an individual dosage for each patient.

Pour Kudaev notes that with a positive outcome of treatment, the cost of the course may turn out to be significant.

The estimated cost of a full course of treatment in case of successful implementation may vary from 500,000 to 1,000,000 rubles.

According to him, the high price is associated with labor -intensive production, the need for specialized equipment and qualified personnel.

In addition, the introduction of such technology in medical practice will take years.

The process of introducing technology into Russian medical practice involves several stages. The completion of clinical tests is expected in 2026–2027, after which the procedures for obtaining international certificates (2027−2028) will follow. Registration of the drug in Russia is scheduled for 2028−2029, and mass implementation is possible no earlier than 2030.

Thus, it is so far about the long term. Although development can change the approach to treatment in dentistry, the final conclusions about its capabilities can only be drawn after the completion of all stages of testing and receiving official permits.
