The Ministry of Transport of Russia has prepared a legal framework for creating a unified system of identification of civilian drones. Since March 1, 2026, Dronov accounts are planned to be organized on the basis of the ERA-GLONASS State Information System. The corresponding draft government decree has already been published for public discussion.
The new system should increase the safety and transparency of the use of drones. According to the ministry, this will mitigate the current regional restrictions on flights, replacing them with targeted regulation. The decision was developed as part of the presidential instructions for the development of civil unmanned aviation.
The Ministry of Transport noted that the system will open up new business opportunities. Enterprises will be able to more actively use drones in logistics, agriculture and construction. Regions will receive tools for monitoring airspace without total prohibitions.
