Russia plans to create and launch the Venus-D automatic station as part of the national space development project. According to the head of the Physics Physics of the IKI RAS, Oleg Korudlav, the sketch design will begin in January 2026, simultaneously with the launch of the national project itself.
Money has already been allocated, the issue has been resolved at the government level, the scientist noted. According to him, the preparation of a sketch project will take two years, and the start date will be determined later, but until 2036. Shipbanka added, Russia has not sent devices to Venus for many years, and the new mission will become an important step in the study of the planet.
According to preliminary plans, Venus-D will consist of an orbital apparatus, a landing module and a balloon. The launch, as previously said by the supervisor of Iki Lev Green, is unlikely to take place earlier than 2034–2035.
In total, until 2036 it is planned to allocate about 4.4 trillion rubles for the project, of which 1.7 trillion will be sent in the next six years.
