The United Aircraft Building Corporation (UAC) received a patent for the design of a wide-body long-range aircraft (ShFDMS), which, in terms of characteristics, is comparable to Boeing B787-900 Dreamliner, but has lower operating costs.
According to the patent, the new aircraft demonstrates 3% smaller direct and 6% smaller direct operating costs compared to American Dreamliner. It exceeds the B787-9 by 11-13% by direct and 15-17% in direct costs to the kilometer.
ShFDMS is designed for flights up to 13,600, 12,000 and 10,300 kilometers in a three -class layout with a capacity of up to 281 passenger. A shortened and elongated versions of 240 and 320 seats are planned, respectively.
The patent application was submitted on December 30, 2024. In November 2024, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov said that Russia needs its own wide -body aircraft for international flights, the creation deadlines – after 2030.
