US President Donald Trump said that he was not too concerned about the “threats of national security related to Tiktok, owned by Chinese ByTedance. According to him, the fears around Tiktok are “greatly exaggerated”.
Trump also hinted that he could again extend the time for the sale of Tiktok to an American buyer so that the application could avoid the ban in the United States. If this happens, it will already be the fourth extension. In June, he postponed a ban for 90 days.
The law requiring the sale of Tiktok of an American company or a ban on working in the country was adopted due to fears of the past administration regarding the security of the data of 150 million American users and the possible influence of the Chinese government. ByTedance rejects these accusations.
According to Trump, there are already potential American investors for the purchase of Tiktok, including Microsoft, Amazon and Oracle. YouTuber MRBEAST, billionaire Frank McCurt, and Perplexity AI, also showed interest. The amount of the transaction can be from 20 to 100 billion dollars.
