In Russia, only 29.5% of employees use exclusively the equipment of the employer. The rest prefer to combine corporate and personal devices or work only on their own gadgets. Such data was shown by IRU study.
According to the survey, more than 1400 users found out that 29.1% work only on personal devices, and the majority, that is, 41.4%, combine both options. The main reasons for choosing their own computers and smartphones are associated with the possibility of full adjustment (42%), convenience when working in the office and remotely (23%), as well as higher performance (20%) compared to corporate analogues.

However, such flexibility has risks. In 41.5% of employees, they are engaged in setting and safety themselves. Approximately every sixth (17%) in the company does not at all have responsible for data protection. As a result, a significant part of the devices remains without the control of specialists.
The study showed that only 52% of respondents are stored on service computers, in 12% in corporate clouds. The remaining 36% keep documents on personal devices or in third -party services. This poses a threat of leaks and failures.

Actual risks are confirmed by statistics: 46% of those who use personal devices in work have already encountered problems. Among them, the loss of data and the breakdown of devices (19%), the need to repair at their own expense (11%), infection with viruses (6%) and information leakage (4%).

Those who work exclusively on corporate equipment report such cases by almost 20% less. This indicates that centralized control reduces risks and makes the work more stable.
