After the Figure 02 robot gumanoid has successfully mastered the washing and folding of the linen, it is now taking up the dishes. Figure from California showed a video where the robot independently loads plates, glasses and cups into a dishwasher.
For the robot, in general, such a task is quite complicated. It is necessary to carefully take objects of various shapes and fragility, correctly orient them and arrange a dishwasher in a limited space. The company notes that the loading of the dishwasher actually includes many complex tasks in the “head” of the robot: separation of plates from piles, synchronous work of two hands, accurate holding of slippery or fragile objects, as well as constant adaptation to new objects and unexpected situations.
Figure 02 copes with this using its “fingers”. The robot works using the Helix AI system, which combines vision and language to perform actions.
According to Figure, this is another step towards creating a scalable “smart” humanoid home robot.
