Intel completed the transfer of its only plant in China SK Hynix. According to the latest registration data, the company in the city of Dalyan is officially renamed and is now operating under the control of the South Korean Corporation.
The Intel Nand Business deal, including the factory in China, was concluded back in 2020 and was estimated at about $ 9 billion. However, the legal transfer of the asset was stretched for almost five years. Now the documents confirm that the control has completely passed to SK Hynix.
This step turned out to be timely for Intel. Recently, the US authorities limited the company’s activities in China, withdrawing VEU licenses, which allowed the use of American equipment at the factory in Dalyan without additional permits. Now each delivery requires separate approval. For Intel, this could create serious difficulties, but after the transfer of the plant, all the risks fell on the new owner.
