04.09.2025

In Tomsk, on the basis of the engineering chemical and technological center of TSU, the first production of polyesterceton (PEEK) was launched in Russia. This heat -resistant polymer was previously purchased abroad and is used in high -tech industries.

PEEK is a universal engineering plastic that retains its properties at temperatures up to +250 degrees. The material is resistant to water vapor and aggressive environments.

Production is organized according to patented synthesis technology developed by JSC Institute Plastmass. The total project cost amounted to about 300 million rubles. The initiative was implemented as part of the import substitution program with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The first consumer of the material was the Chuvashkabel plant, which requires a heat -resistant polymer for the production of special cables. Products are thorough testing in 18 physical and chemical indicators, including melting temperature and viscosity.

The annual production volume is 7-10 tons with the prospect of increasing capacities. Tomsk State University is a scientific partner of the project, ensuring quality control and the development of new brands of material for automotive and medical industry.
