The Helicopters of Russia, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation, held the first test flight of the Ansat multi -purpose helicopter in an imported version. The machine is equipped with Russian VK-650 engines in the development of a combined engine corporation.
The duration of the first flight was 6 minutes. The crew checked the stability and controllability of the helicopter, the performance of equipment and the main systems. The tests were carried out both with turned off and with the autopilot turned on.
The helicopter received significant changes in the design. The hoods and fire partitions were modernized, the fuel and oil systems were improved. The frame of the pilot’s cabin is now made of carbon fiber.
The new VK-650 V engine is the first domestic power plant for light helicopters with a run of up to 4 tons. It is equipped with a modern digital system of automatic regulation and is ready for serial production.
“Ansat” is able to fly without refueling at a distance of up to 660 km, and with an additional tank – up to 800 km. The machine can be operated at temperatures from −45 to +50 degrees and in high mountain conditions.
