Waymo announced that the Jaguar I-Pace and Minivan Zeekr in Denver and Seattle launched an electric crossover. While the cars will be controlled by drivers, and later the company will begin to test autonomous driving.
In Denver, it is planned to launch robotaxi next year, and in Seattle – as soon as they receive permission. These cities with “extreme weather conditions” will allow Waymo to check the technology in snow, rain and strong wind.
Denver and Seattle join other cities of the United States, where Waymo is already working. Now the country has more than 2000 robotaxi, including 800 in San Francisco, 500 in Los Angeles, 400 in Phoenix, 100 in Ostin and several dozen in Atlanta.
The company also plans to launch commercial robotaxi in Dallas, Miami and Washington next year. Recently received permission to test in New York.
