On 18 December 2025, the Heydar Aliyev Center in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku hosted the opening ceremony of the creative exhibition by Peruvian artist Sol Alexo, entitled “Imaginary World Between the Andes and the Caucasus.”

The central figures of the works on display are alpacas — symbols of the highlands of the Andes. The artist combines these animals with human emotions, portraying them with deep emotional meaning.
Speaking to journalists before the opening, Sol Alexo emphasized that Peru is recognized worldwide as the homeland of alpacas, and much of his artistic work is dedicated to these images.

Inspired by Azerbaijan’s historic sites, particularly Baku and Shamakhi, the artist created works depicting alpacas in these settings. He also drew inspiration from local cuisine and cultural experiences, reflecting these impressions in his paintings.
The exhibited works show alpacas both individually and in pairs, symbolizing connection with the environment and spiritual harmony.
Sol Alexo highlighted the special significance of this collection in his creative journey and announced plans for future projects related to Azerbaijan.
Alongside works from different periods, the exhibition also features paintings specially prepared for the Baku event. Passionate about art since childhood, the artist is known for participating in more than 60 international exhibitions.
Conclusion: The exhibition in Baku became a vivid example of expressing cultural and spiritual harmony between the Andes and the Caucasus through art. Sol Alexo’s works represent an important step in fostering new emotions and cultural connections in the international art space.
