In Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, an international conference was held at the Tajik National University within the framework of the project “Environmental Science, Social Needs and Governance in Central Asia” (ESGCA). Representing Turkmenistan, experienced faculty members and specialists from the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan attended this significant event.
According to the “Nebit-gaz” newspaper, the conference brought together representatives from the region’s scientific and educational sectors to discuss contemporary issues of sustainable development. Key activities included training workshops focused on developing and implementing eco-friendly technologies within the education system, enhancing the environmental awareness of the younger generation, and establishing mechanisms for the financial support of innovative initiatives.
During the “round table” sessions organized as part of the conference, Turkmenistan’s environmental policy and state-level initiatives were discussed in detail. The Turkmen delegates shared vital information regarding the scientific foundations of water conservation, the prospects of developing alternative energy sources, and the impact of modern hydrological technologies on industrial production.
Furthermore, a major focus of the discussions was the deep processing of oil and gas—a sector of strategic importance for the country’s fuel and energy complex—with an emphasis on maintaining environmental standards and achieving zero-waste production. Participants emphasized that this meeting opens new avenues for exchanging expertise and strengthening cooperation between scientific and educational institutions across Central Asian nations.
