From December 17 to 21, a scientific delegation from Turkmenistan conducted a working visit to the city of Saint-Paul-lez-Durance, French Republic. The primary objective of the visit was to gain first-hand insight into the operations of the International ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) organization—one of the largest and most significant scientific projects in the world. During the visit, the representatives received detailed information regarding ongoing experiments in controlled thermonuclear fusion, which remains one of the most complex challenges in modern science.
The scientific research conducted by ITER aims to provide humanity with an environmentally friendly, reliable, and inexhaustible source of electrical energy in the future. The Turkmen delegation took a keen interest in the innovative technologies and assembly processes utilized to harness thermonuclear energy. Additionally, discussions were held with experts regarding the project’s importance for global energy security and its potential to conserve natural resources in the coming years.
According to the official website of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, young scientists from our country actively participated in this high-level international scientific visit. Specifically, A. Amanmadow, a trainee teacher at the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, and M. Kakamyradowa, a first-year student specializing in Radiophysics and Electronics, were part of this significant event. The exposure of young specialists to such world-class projects is expected to contribute greatly to the further development of physics and technology in Turkmenistan.
