On the evening of 22 December, an aircraft of Ural Airlines operating the Dubai–Yekaterinburg route made an emergency landing at Ashgabat International Airport due to a technical malfunction.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of airport staff and other relevant authorities, all 93 passengers and 8 crew members received timely assistance, were accommodated in one of the capital’s hotels, and were provided with drinking water and hot meals. Diplomats of the Embassy promptly arrived at the hotel, maintained communication with its staff, and coordinated with the relevant services of Ashgabat’s air harbor.
At 06:40 local time, all citizens were able to depart for Yekaterinburg on a reserve aircraft that had arrived from Russia.
