The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held video talks. It was also noted that the implementation of joint railway and energy projects is approaching the practical stage.
For his part, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov recalled the historical and friendly ties between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation in various areas. He stressed the importance of coordinated implementation of economic projects, continued high‑level visits, and joint preparation of upcoming events.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries of both countries emphasized that strengthening regional cooperation — especially between Afghanistan and the Central Asian states — is an important and valuable direction.
