The United States Special Representative for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor, will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan on January 22–23, 2026. The visit aims to expand strategic cooperation between the two countries and promote sustainable development in the region.
During the visit, Special Representative Gor will hold meetings with senior government officials of Turkmenistan as well as representatives of the business community. Discussions will focufs on:
- new areas of bilateral cooperation,
- strengthening regional stability,
- expanding economic partnership.
According to the U.S. Embassy, the United States hopes to explore new avenues of cooperation that will serve the interests of both countries and contribute to prosperity and security in the region.
In recent years, cooperation between the United States and Turkmenistan has strengthened in the fields of:

- energy,
- economy,
- security.
Sergio Gor’s visit is expected to mark a new stage in the development of these relations.
