Uzbekistan Plans to Increase Mandarin Imports from Pakistan

05.01.2026

In Islamabad, negotiations were held between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev and Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi. According to the “Dunyo” news agency, the main topic of the meeting was expanding the volume of Pakistani citrus exports—particularly mandarins—to the Uzbek market.

The sides emphasized that Pakistan is currently Tashkent’s key partner in this sector. According to the national statistics committee, during the first 11 months of 2025 alone, Uzbekistan imported 327.1 thousand tons of mandarins from Pakistan.

The meeting also discussed strengthening trade cooperation, establishing a stable supply chain, and improving the availability of Pakistani citrus products in Uzbekistan.

Following the talks, both sides confirmed their intention to elevate cooperation in the citrus sector and ensure the stable growth of mandarin supplies in line with market demand.
