The implementation of Artificial Intelligence and technological optimization is causing mass layoffs across American companies. According to the latest data, thousands of employees have already lost their positions.
Based on research by Layoffs.fyi and Christmas, more than 75,000 people were dismissed in the U.S. by the end of 2025. The most significant reductions occurred within the framework of government spending cut policies, leaving nearly 294,000 employees jobless. Furthermore, market shifts have led to the job loss of over 253,000 additional people.
Major companies have not been immune to these cuts. Amazon, UPS, and other well-known corporations have decided to cut over 52,000 jobs under the pretext of “stabilizing” the labor market.
According to Financial Times analysts, an excessive number of staff members were hired during the pandemic period. Currently, economic uncertainty and the threat posed by AI to traditional job roles are pushing companies toward mass layoffs.
As a reminder, in September of last year, Google dismissed over 200 employees working on AI-related products without any prior warning.
