Brussels, February 6 — A meeting took place at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan and the Head of the Permanent Mission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Abdulkhaleq Al‑Yafei. The sides discussed the current state of cooperation and prospects for expanding interaction between Turkmenistan and the OIC.
During the conversation, it was noted that Turkmenistan has been a member of the OIC since 1992 and has consistently demonstrated active participation in the organization’s work throughout this period. Special attention was given to the OIC resolution adopted last year, which highlighted the role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy in strengthening international peace and security.
The Head of the OIC Mission emphasized that Turkmenistan has established itself as a responsible member of the international community, recognized for its positive neutral status and its contribution to dialogue and sustainable development.
Following the meeting, the diplomats agreed to continue supporting the strengthening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OIC, making use of the opportunities provided by their work in Brussels.
