American pop star Britney Spears has reached an agreement to sell the rights to her entire musical catalog. According to the “Belta.by” portal, citing the BBC, the 44-year-old singer has transferred her music catalog to the independent music publishing company “Primary Wave.” While the deal is reported to be worth approximately $200 million, Spears’ official representatives have so far declined to comment.
The singer is world-renowned for hits such as “Baby One More Time,” “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” and “Gimme More.” Since entering the music scene in 1999, Britney Spears has released a total of nine studio albums, with over 150 million copies sold worldwide. Additionally, the star published her memoir, titled “The Woman in Me,” in 2023.
In January 2024, Britney Spears announced that she no longer plans to return to the music industry. One of her most recent works is a collaboration with legendary singer Elton John, released in 2022. This sale is being noted as one of the concluding steps of the singer’s long-standing career in the world of music.
