The German government continues to expand cooperation with new strategic partners, aiming to strengthen the country’s security and economic stability. Within this policy framework, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

According to the Chancellor, new directions are opening up in Germany’s foreign economic strategy: reducing excessive dependence on individual states, minimizing risks, and creating new opportunities are currently key priorities.
Saudi Arabia’s large-scale economic, cultural, and social modernization makes the country an attractive market for German industry. At the same time, it is noted that issues related to human rights also remain on the agenda.
Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund holds significant assets in Germany. Berlin intends to use this potential to stimulate economic growth.
During the visit, the Chancellor held talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Both sides emphasized that expanding economic cooperation serves the interests of both countries.
