Historical heritage is not merely a collection of monuments from the past — it represents an essential part of humanity’s culture, scientific progress, and spiritual legacy. Across the world, the preservation of this heritage, its transmission to future generations, and its restoration in authentic form have become some of the most important tasks of our time.
In this context, the international program “Türkiye Experience Exchange for Restoration and Conservation Laboratories,” held in Ankara and Istanbul, continues to attract significant attention. On 11 February, the Istanbul Central and Regional Directorate for Restoration and Conservation hosted a session titled “Restoration and Preservation Practices.”
Professors and experts delivered presentations on methods for studying architectural monuments, conducting scientific research, analyzing structural features, and applying modern approaches to restoration work. Broad discussions were also held on preserving the material and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world, promoting it globally, and advancing its academic study.
During the event, participants compared the experiences of different countries, discussed the role of new technologies in restoration and conservation, digital research methods, and the importance of international cooperation in this field.
This international program contributes to strengthening regional collaboration in the preservation of historical heritage, introducing new scientific approaches, and ensuring that cultural values are passed on to future generations in their authentic form.
