A new stage of transport and logistics cooperation is emerging in the Caspian region. The working visit of Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), to Turkmenistan marked an important step toward coordinating the future development of the two countries’ seaports. As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation toured the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.

Port Director Parahat Jumayev presented detailed information to the guests about the modern capabilities of the Turkmenbashi port, its expanded infrastructure, and its transit potential. Today, the port is becoming not only a key hub of the Caspian region but also one of the significant logistics centers of Eurasia.

Several important issues were discussed at the meeting:
- synchronization of the development of the Baku and Turkmenbashi ports,
- dredging works along sea routes,
- increasing regional cargo flows,
- improving the efficiency of transit corridors along the Middle Corridor.
The parties emphasized that expanding the connection along the Caspian Sea–Black Sea route would significantly increase the volume of cargo transported via the Middle Corridor. This route opens new economic opportunities not only for Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan but also for the entire Eurasian space.

The importance of coordinated work between the ports within the Eurasian Transport Route was particularly highlighted. Such cooperation will ensure faster, more reliable, and more competitive cargo movement in international markets.
The development of cooperation along the Baku–Turkmenbashi route expands the Caspian region’s logistics potential and raises the economic relations between the two countries to a new level.
