As a specific highlight of the Turkmen delegation’s visit to the United Kingdom, led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, a meeting was held with Professor Timothy Williams of the Institute of Archaeology at University College London (UCL). The meeting concluded with the signing of an Agreement between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the UCL Institute of Archaeology.
During the conversation, the Turkmen side noted Timothy Williams’ long-standing contribution to the study and preservation of Turkmenistan’s archaeological heritage, particularly Ancient Merv. The importance of joint scientific research and the development of museum and exhibition cooperation was emphasized.
Following the meeting, an Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the UCL Institute of Archaeology, aimed at further expanding the partnership, conducting joint expeditions, advancing scientific research, and training specialists.
