At the end of March 2026, due to a sequence of holidays, residents of Turkmenistan will enjoy four consecutive days off.
March 20 marks Oraza Bayrami, celebrating the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. The date of the holiday was determined in accordance with the official schedule of suhoor and iftar times, approved by the Mufti of Turkmenistan.
On March 21 and 22, the country solemnly celebrates the National Spring Holiday — International Nowruz Day. This holiday is one of the main state celebrations of Turkmenistan.
Since March 22, 2026, falls on a Sunday, the day off is moved to Monday, March 23. This change is implemented in accordance with Article 81, Part 2 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, which stipulates that a day off coinciding with a public holiday is shifted to the next working day.
Thus, March 20, 21, 22, and 23 are declared non-working days. Residents of the country will be able to rest for four consecutive days. The working week will resume on Tuesday, March 24.
According to established tradition, the relevant document regarding the scheduling of holidays in Turkmenistan is formalized by a Decree of the President of the country.
