On March 28, 2026, the 8th Congress of Judges of Turkmenistan was held with the participation of representatives from the Supreme Court, the Arbitration Court, and judges from regional, district, and city courts. The agenda included vital tasks facing the relevant structures.
During the congress, the results of the contest titled “The Most Exemplary Court of the International Year of Peace and Trust” were announced. Additionally, the proposal to launch the “Most Exemplary Court” contest among Turkmen courts and the “Most Exemplary Judge” contest among first-instance judges was reviewed. The agenda also featured issues regarding the core directions for improving the judicial system and legal proceedings. In this context, the importance of introducing amendments and additions to relevant legal documents to meet contemporary requirements was emphasized.
The discussion also covered tasks related to the implementation of the 2026 work plan and the new edition of the Code of Judicial Ethics. Following the congress, relevant resolutions were adopted.
