The coverage area of “TürkmenÄlem 52°E”, Turkmenistan’s first national satellite, encompasses Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, CIS countries, and several regions of Asia. More than 1.2 billion people reside within these areas.
The launch of the satellite in 2015 marked a significant milestone in developing the national telecommunications infrastructure and expanding international communication capabilities. Turkmenistan is a full member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), actively participating in relevant international initiatives.
Ongoing projects contribute to the development of transit telecommunication routes between Europe and Asia, enhance network throughput capacity, and strengthen Turkmenistan’s position as a key communication hub in the region.
