The first expert forum of Central Asian countries and Germany will be held on April 16–17, 2026, in the city of Khiva. This was reported by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The forum is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the regional office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation office in Uzbekistan.
More than 50 delegates are expected to participate, including heads of think tanks, experts, as well as representatives of science, education, and business from Germany and Central Asian countries. The forum aims to create a permanent expert platform to provide analytical support for the “Central Asia + Germany” format.
During the event, participants will discuss areas such as political dialogue, development of economic and industrial cooperation, digital transformation, as well as strengthening human capital through academic exchanges and organized labor migration.
“Central Asia + Germany” (C5+1 format) is a strategic regional partnership between the Federal Republic of Germany and the five Central Asian countries (Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan).
