The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has conducted the “Artemis II” test flight, sending four astronauts to the Moon for the first time since 1972. This was reported by CNN.
The rocket was launched on April 1 from the Kennedy Space Center. The mission is expected to last approximately 10 days, during which the crew will fly around the Moon without landing, before returning to Earth.
As noted in the report, the crew includes Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency.
This mission marks the first crewed flight to the Moon since the Apollo program era. The spacecraft is expected to travel a record distance from Earth for a test flight.
“Artemis II” is one of the key stages of the Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the Moon in the coming years.
