Yesterday, on April 7, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Hero-Arkadag sincerely congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on her birthday on his own behalf and on behalf of the esteemed President, wishing her sound health and new successes in her state activities. The National Leader particularly noted Valentina Matviyenko’s significant personal contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Russian friendly relations.
During the conversation, the parties discussed important issues of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Noting Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS this year, the Hero-Arkadag thanked V. Matviyenko for supporting the Women’s Dialogue, the conference on demographic issues, and the high-level event of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, all scheduled to be held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone in October.
The development of humanitarian relations was one of the priority areas of the talk. The National Leader highly praised the work being done to preserve the historical heritage of the two peoples, specifically initiatives such as the “Train of Memory” and the “Commonwealth of Fashion.”
