Ashgabat, 30 April 2026: Within the framework of the joint project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan aimed at promoting the development of the country’s financial market, a seminar was held in Ashgabat on 30 April 2026 for specialists of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Ashgabat Stock Exchange.
During the seminar, UNDP experts introduced participants to key aspects of how the securities market operates, including international best practices for protecting the rights of investors and issuing companies, global approaches to investment activity in securities markets, as well as the important role of international standards in supporting the market’s development.
The event also served as a platform for open discussions, during which participants reviewed various aspects of the activities of the Ashgabat Stock Exchange.
This initiative reflects the consistent, long-term collaboration between UNDP and national partners to strengthen the institutional and regulatory framework. The project places particular emphasis on improving legislation, developing a strategy for securities market development, enhancing the qualifications of specialists, creating an effective institutional structure, and developing a depository system.
